Johnson Brothers Wild Turkey Transferware Plates

In 1620, more than a hundred Puritans left England for a New World: America. The following year, they cultivated the American soil and harvested bountiful crops. They had much to be thankful for in their new life, that they decided to hold a feast of thanskgiving, which was the origin of Thanksgiving Day. George Washington, the first American president, suggested that November 26th be appointed as Thanksgiving Day, but then in 1863, as the long and bloody Civil War came to an end, and Abraham Lincoln asked all Americans to set aside the last Thursday in November as a day of thanksgiving. Thanksgiving Day is one of the largest national festivals celebrated in America. There are many speculations that Thanksgiving came from the Holy Biblical feast of first fruits. This may or may not be correct., as many speculate the immigrants kept the festivals, and they eventually categorized it under a new name for the secular society.   What are the biblical festivals?   For hundreds of years before Jesus Christ, God set up 5 exciting celebrations in Lev 23 and gave his believers specific details how about to keep them.   Amazingly, all these festivals were set up for future events to occur on that very date.   Within all the 5 festivals lined up with prophecies or foreshadows of events that would occur in the future.

For more information about these biblical feasts around the same time of thanksgiving, read these articles, 1, and 2.
